AI Palm Lab
Science or Story?
Explore what AI can measure in your hand - and test traditional palmistry claims.
๐ฌ Scientific Hand Scan
๐ No photo is saved. The camera picture stays inside this device and is thrown away straight after the AI looks at it. Nothing is uploaded.
These are geometric measurements, not medical or personality diagnoses.
Your hand in numbers
The 21 points the AI found. No photo - just dots and lines.
๐ Repeat test: is the AI steady?
Scientists measure the same thing several times. If the numbers jump around, the measuring tool is not very precise. Keep the same hand in front of the camera.
๐ Ruler check: AI vs ruler
Measure the same hand with a ruler. Hand length = wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger. Palm width = across the knuckles from the index finger to the little finger.
โจ Palm & Star Reading
๐ฌ Scientific view - only numbers the AI measured from your hand. No meanings, no traditions.
What do old palmistry books and astrology say? Everything you see comes from our two source files - nothing is made up by the AI.
1. Your date of birth
2. Your hand scan (optional)
3. Look at your palm lines (optional)
The AI cannot see skin creases - only joints. So you look at your palm and choose. Skip anything you are not sure about.
๐ Sources & Literature
Palmistry and astrology are cultural traditions - very old, and part of the art and history of many countries. They are not proven sciences: careful tests have not shown that they predict personality or the future (for example Carlson's test of astrologers, Nature, 1985). This app treats them as literature: it shows what the books say, and says which book said it.
๐งช Mini Experiment
Answer 3 quick questions first. Then we reveal what the star-sign tradition "predicts" and check if it matches. Your answers are anonymous.

๐ค What is AI hand landmark detection?
A landmark is a special point we can find again and again - like the tip of your thumb. The AI here (Google's MediaPipe Hand Landmarker) was trained on many thousands of hand pictures in which people had marked 21 points by hand: the wrist, and four points on each finger.
It works in two steps. First, a small "palm detector" finds where the hand is in the picture. Then a second network looks closely at that part and guesses the position of all 21 points. It does this many times a second, right here on the phone.
From those 21 dots we can measure lengths and angles. We use ratios (one length divided by another), so the answer does not change if your hand is closer to the camera.
๐๏ธ What are palm prints and dermatoglyphics?
Dermatoglyphics is the science of the ridge patterns on our fingers, palms and soles - loops, whorls and arches. These ridges form before we are born, about 10 to 16 weeks into pregnancy, and stay the same all our life.
That is why fingerprints are used to identify people: even identical twins have different prints. Doctors have also found that a few rare medical conditions can come with unusual palm creases - but that is a clue for a doctor to check, never a prediction about your life.
Our app does not read ridges or lines. It only measures the shape of the hand.
โญ Are palmistry and astrology science?
They are cultural traditions: very old, interesting and part of many people's history and art. But when scientists have tested them carefully, they have not been able to predict personality or the future.
One famous test (Shawn Carlson, published in the journal Nature in 1985) asked astrologers to match people's star charts to their personality test results. They did no better than chance.
Why do readings still feel right? This is the Barnum effect: general, positive sentences like "you are kind but sometimes doubt yourself" fit almost everyone, so each person feels they were described. Our Mini Experiment lets you test this yourself.
โ ๏ธ Why can AI be biased or make mistakes?
An AI only knows what it learned from its training pictures. If those pictures had fewer hands of some skin tones, ages, sizes, or hands wearing rings or bandages, it may be less accurate for them.
It also struggles with poor light, blur, fingers hidden behind each other, or a tilted hand. It can even mix up left and right. That is why we show the dots so you can check them, and why our Repeat test and Ruler check exist.
A good scientist never trusts a measuring tool blindly - not even an AI.
๐ Why does this app not store photos or personal data?
A picture of your hand is personal. So the camera picture is used only inside this phone or computer, then thrown away. Nothing is uploaded to the internet and no photo is ever saved.
Your birthday is used only to work out your sign, then forgotten when you tap New Visitor. The only thing kept is three counts for the exhibition results (visitors, answers, matches) - no names, no birthdays, no pictures.
